- What is online vehicle deregistration?
Since the end of 2023, online vehicle deregistration has made it possible to deregister your vehicle (e.g. motorbike, car or truck) directly online with us. You will receive your deregistration confirmation conveniently by e-mail and no longer have to go to the registration office yourself. With us, online deregistration is possible from anywhere in the world and without a german ID card.
- How long does it take to process the deregistration?
The processing time depends on the selected deregistration, but it is usually less than 24 hours for online deregistration. With classic on-site deregistration, the car is usually deregistered within 5 working days of receiving the documents.
- What documents do I need to deregister my car?
Whether online or in the traditional way, you will always need the vehicle registration certificate (registration certificate part I) and the vehicle's licence plate number to deregister the vehicle.
